One of the participants wrote the following after the seminar
“When you as often as i think “i want to be able to do, what he can do”, then the seminar is a success. And that was exactly what the seminar with the 22-year-old Nikolaj Skarbye yesterday was.
With a great enthusiasm, Nikolaj lead us through flowdrills and tegummi, which are close combat techniques, where contact is attained with your opponent all the time. We also learned painfull pressure points and tricking the opponent into a chosen zone as bait – then we will know when his attack will come. Nikolaj gave away his great knowledge of the body and the way it works, in regards to balance, muscles and psychology.
I noted a couple of quotes as: “if it doesn’t work, so what, then we’ll just do this instead”, “and then you just do like this, when he becomes crazed” and “everything can be learned, if you practice alot”.
There is no doubt that, i would want to be able to do much of what Nikolaj can, so there is nothing left to do, than to practice – and by the way hope that Nikolaj will visit our dojo another time in the future.
